My Blog Review

May 19, 2006

Wow! The middle school pages that I read were all unique in their own way. Some were more creative than others.

To begin with, the “Room 613” page was one of the pages I really enjoyed. It had everything I was looking for. It’s very informative, in that, they had facts from science to history to movie reviews to personal opinions. One thing that caught my eye was the “Three Gorges Dam.” I learned that it’s designed to generate 18.2 million kilowatts of electricity. That really surprised me because it’s about 1/7 of China’s total electricity for a year. Room 613 page had many pictures that grabbed my attention. They were bright colors such as yellow, white, and orange.

Another page I likes was “South Park Reading.” Even though it didn’t have any pictures or a long extended page, it was neat and organized. What I found really cool is that they had an “outsiders” review because I just finished reading the book myself. The background really hit the spot.

In conclusion, all the pages I read by middle schooler’s were fun to read. Every page filled with personal opinions and local news. I couldn’t have gotten tired from looking at them

“The Three Gorges Dam”

WOW! You have a really creative and informative page. Love your pictures because it catches reader’s attention. The banana phone is really funny. Maybe that will be the next popular thing. The links where you got the information from is a very helpful tool. I like that you have multiple information. Such as science, some history, and important people.  It’s like a one stop information page. Your writing is excellent as well, big words and great opinions.

A Child Called ‘It’ Review

May 5, 2006

A Child Called ‘It’ is a very strong and depressing book. It’s about a boy, Dave Pellecer, the author, who has an abusive mother. Dave has to fight through his life and learn his mother’s ways. He sleeps in the basement on an army cot. His mom tries to kill him when ever she

has the chance to. She does this by either making him clean the bathroom with chemicals and getting nemonia or skating outside for hours in the cold. His mom makes him starve to death witch causes Dave to steal food from other kids at school. As a result, his mom found out and she punishes him. She makes him eat ’something brown’ in the diaper. She burns him on the stove and drown’s him when showering.

He never tells anyone about his abusive mother because of two reasons. First, he’s scared of his mother reactions towards him. Secondly, every time someone asked him about the bruises on him, his mom tells him that she loves him just so she doesn’t get in jail or caught.

I really recommend this book because it’s a devastating story that did actually happened to this innocent kid and everyone should be aware of it.  You wouldn’t be able to let it go one you start reading.
